Reverse with crocodile chained to a palm tree, victory wreath above left. Inscription COL(onia Augusta) NEM(ausus). Allusion to the naval battle of Actium 29 BC, which paved the way for the conquest of Egypt, symbolized by the captured crocodile (Aegypto Capta). In addition, veterans of this naval battle also settled in Nimes.
