Description
Fittings of a late Roman military belt from Argeliers, southern France, late 4th century AD. The complete set includes 14 peltae, 6 propeller fittings and an hourglass-shaped fitting as well as a horse-shaped strap tongue in openwork that repeats the motif of the belt buckle. For a belt width of approx. 4.3 cm, length of buckle 10.3 cm. All fittings have cast rivet pins on the back.
