Description

Obverse TI(berius) CLAUDIUS CAESAR AUG(ustus), a hand holding scales, below the scales P(ortorium) N(undinarium) R(emissum) which translates roughly as “the tax on the market is withdrawn” as a reduction in the market tax. Claudius revoked many of the tax decrees of his predecessor Caligula.
