Front head to the right, HADRIANUS AUGUSTUS P(ater) P(atriae )
Rückseite HILARITAS P(opulus) R(omanus) CO(n)S(ul) III, darunter S(enatus C(onsulto). Hilaritas was a Roman deity who was supposed to bring cheerfulness and serenity. She stands to the left, holding a palm branch and cornucopia, between two children. Hadrian had once again expanded the alimentary foundations of Nerva and Traian for the training and education of destitute youth.
Brass sestertius, diameter 29 mm, minted in Rome in 138 AD.
