Description

Fittings of a Noric-Pannonian belt set from Gerasdorf in Austria. This piece includes 2 of the curved “duck headbands” shown in the foreground, 4 of the “little boat fittings” behind the large fittings, as well as 6 larger and 6 smaller decorative rivets (not shown here). These belts of wealthy women are dated to the 1st century AD, the width of the belt shown is 4.9 cm. A complete costume also includes 2 winged brooches (like No. 0487) and a double button brooch (like No. 0035). Matching normal rivets are included.
