Bow brooch from Augst (AUGUSTA RAURICA), Schweiz, second half first century AD. Length 6,4 cm. This type had its origin at the beginning of the 1st century AD in the Noric-Pannonian area (corresponds roughly to Austria and western Hungary today), from where it also spread across the Rhineland. The type is rarely found north of the Main.
