Roman lunula pendant. The crescent moon is the attribute of the moon goddess “Luna” and, mostly made of precious metal and worn on necklaces of the same type, was widespread as women’s jewelery throughout the empire for a long time. But soldiers also appreciated this amulet, as is shown by a huge number of lunula-shaped fittings (mostly tin-plated brass) found in military sites. Dating: 1st to 3rd century AD.
