Description

Gigliato (Giglio = lily), an Italian silver coin from Naples by Robert of Anjou, King of Naples (1309-1343). On the obverse a seated ruler with sceptre and orb, flanked by a lion on each side. Inscription ROBERT DEI GRA IERL ET SICIL REX R

Backside lily cross, in the quadrants lilies. Inscription HONOR REGIS IUDICIU DILIGIT

Replica in silver, diameter approx. 2.5 cm.
