Disc plate brooch from Hallein-Dürrnberg, Austria, burial 42/1. The Dürrnberg is one of the most important Iron Age sites in Europe. Here was an important Celtic metropolis, known for its huge range of finds, which had brought great prosperity through salt mining and trading. Originally made of bronze, the central spine was once adorned with a coral bead. Diameter 4.9 cm, original made of bronze, around 400 BC. Replica with coral bead.
